The website

Echoes of Science is a free educational website and YouTube channel about true moments in history and the science behind them, run from Belgium. You may read, share and link to our pages. Our own texts and videos may not be republished in full without permission.

Archive material

Photographs, footage, documents and music from other collections remain under their own licences (public domain, CC0 or CC BY), credited on each page and in each film's description.

Accuracy

We research every story and link our sources, but history is sometimes uncertain; where historians disagree we say so. Pages are provided for education and entertainment, without warranty. Corrections are welcome via the contact page.

Experiments and labs

The kitchen-table experiments use everyday materials. Do them with care and adult supervision where appropriate; you do them at your own risk.

Our publishing tool

We use our own internal software to publish our own videos to our own YouTube and TikTok accounts. It is not offered to other users. Its use of those platforms follows the platforms' own terms (YouTube API Services Terms, TikTok Developer Terms).

Advertising and links

The site shows ads and may contain links to other websites; we are not responsible for their content.

These terms are governed by Belgian law.
